To become a tutor and join our community of peer mentors, you must successfully pass a rigorous, multi-step vetting process designed to confirm both your academic knowledge and professionalism. First, you must submit proof of your subject mastery by providing either Standardized Test Scores (SAT, ACT, PSAT) and/or a High School transcript for review. In addition to academic verification, you are required to submit a minimum of two character referrals from adults other than your parents to ensure you are a responsible mentor. You must also complete a detailed application form that includes essay questions to assess your motivation, communication style, and commitment to ensuring safety and respect during sessions. If you are accepted, the final step involves completing a required Skillshare class on teaching, coaching, and mentoring, and signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with your client before your first session begins.
