How Does It Work?
The Learn Fellow platform is designed for maximum simplicity and immediate access to support. The process begins on our website's directory, where parents or students browse and select a specific vetted Fellow based on their academic need. Upon selection, the client is directed to that tutor's dedicated scheduling page, which is connected directly to their personal calendar. Our smart system instantly checks the tutor’s schedule, displaying only the available time slots they have authorized for booking. Once the client chooses a time, they secure the commitment, and a private session link is automatically generated and confirmed to both parties, guaranteeing a secure session written instantly onto the tutor's schedule.
How Much Do I Make?
All session fees are processed securely at the time of booking via our integrated payment processor, Stripe, which ensures your money is handled safely. To establish a strong earning floor, all tutors are guaranteed a base compensation of $18 per hour (before taxes and fees) for their time. However, our platform empowers tutors to be entrepreneurial, allowing them the flexibility to set their own competitive rates above this guaranteed minimum based on their subject expertise and experience. The final 85% share of the fee is then efficiently paid out to the tutor in a consolidated payment once per month.

We demand quantifiable proof of mastery to ensure our tutors are true experts in their subject matter. To verify your knowledge, all applicants must submit one of the following for thorough review: official Standardized Test Scores (SAT, ACT, PSAT) or an official High School Transcript. This commitment guarantees that every Fellow possesses the verified academic foundation necessary to teach the material effectively and confidently, upholding the high standards of expertise parents expect from Learn Fellow.

Beyond test scores, we vet for character, reliability, and professionalism—qualities essential for successful peer mentorship. Every applicant must secure a minimum of two professional referrals from non-family adults, such as former teachers, coaches, or employers. These endorsements are sent directly to the Learn Fellow administration, providing us with vital third-party insight into the tutor’s integrity, communication skills, and responsibility when working with others.

To transition from a great student to a great mentor, every accepted candidate must complete a professional training step. This includes thoughtful responses to detailed application questions, followed by the mandatory completion of a professional teaching course such as the Skillshare “Learn the Art of Teaching Skills, Coaching & Mentoring to Educate & Train Others” by Arman Chowdhury. This ensures proficiency in instructional best practices, safety protocols, and professional conduct. Finally, all tutors must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to formally secure student privacy and guarantee full compliance with our platform's safety standards.
